Customer Reviews:
"When I first read the two excerpts from Sacred and Surreal at Shadow Poetry, I just had a feeling
that this chapbook would have poetry to my liking. I bought it, and I was right! Most of Natalie Case’s
poetry in this collection is Pagan, but there are some excellent poems written on other subjects as well.
I’m only vaguely familiar with the Pagan religion so I found those poems to be enlightening. They tell me
so much about the religion, but more about Natalie, the person and poet. I love getting to know someone
through their poetry. My favorites are the exuberant "today i feel like wearing war paint", the bold "An Ode
to My Tattoo", the seductive "Silent Thundering", and the daring "I’m Not Myself Tonight". If you like poetry
flavored with Paganism, originality, sensuality and self-discovery, then Sacred and Surreal is the book
for you." - Poppy Hullings
"Sacred and Surreal contains many poems by a poetess with a distinctive and descriptive,
almost matter-of-fact writing style. I enjoyed in particular some poems in this chapbook dealing with her
perspectives on love, friendship and the ending of relationships. One very interesting poem The Nature of
Madness describes Elvis having a dinner with the Dane, unusual and imaginative!" - Andrea Dietrich
