Pain
Pain,
My friend,
You give me
Many lessons
Built on many truths.
You shout with sharpened tongue ~
I must listen to your words.
Bedfellows screaming in the night,
But eternal hope will spring with dawn
To lift us from this tomb of woe, once more.

Love
Love
Is here
Within me
Waiting, crying,
Wanting to be found.
Crushed and suffocating
Here within my laden heart
She struggles, aching to be free.
The uttermost farthing must be paid
To release this precious love, held captive.

Truth
Truth
and her
attendants,
pounding loudly
at my door, bring fear
and trepidation to
battle them, once more. "Unbolt
the lock," the spirit says, "Open
your heart and home to sweet, fresh breath of
honored truth; let the Queen reign in her dome.

Divinity
Why
must we
be so blind
to heavenly
untold treasures of
divinity that lie
within the human walls of
blood and bone and flesh? Why must we?
When will "Thy Kingdom come?" When will "Thy
Will be done on earth," in "Your hallowed walls?

Why the Maid Lost Her Nose
"Four-and-twenty blackbirds baked in a pie "
served to a king while the birds doth sing ~
King is counting out his money,
Queen eats her bread and honey.
While maid is hanging clothes,
Blackbird nips off nose
by angered Joe
'cause brother
Moe was
pied.

Justice
Through
life's trials
confusion
sits awaiting
till the blindfold rips,
unmasking cause of deeds ~
be they ignorant or wise.
Fair scales of Justice then will weigh
Each grain of thought, word, deed or action.
Then hearts will suffer woe or be released.

Life
Life,
Sublime
existence ~
Out of nowhere
Into here, you came
To feed the holy flame,
Build a temple for thy name.
Bring birth for man to walk the earth
For knowledge, wisdom, understanding
That soul may search to find its higher self.

Death
Death ~
Take me
from this clay
when e'er you choose.
Steal the sunshine's ray,
nothing more shall I lose.
In this prison I am bound
'til release, at last, is found.
I'll search for heaven on higher ground,
endeavoring to improve the next time 'round.

Solace
Hidden deep in the chambers of the mind,
a place where soul can find its rest ~
A very special kind of nest.
Cares and woes are left behind,
sweet visions, there, are born.
Enter the chamber,
find your repose,
wear the crown
of peace,
Dream.

Purity
Let
Lower
Nature be
Taken by siege ~
Rise up, thou woman
Whose bed is one of ease.
Lift the mighty, golden sword.
Prepare to use it to the death.
Chop off the heads of ugly demons ~
Those impure thoughts, long harbored in the dust.
They flash up quick when the way is opened.
With remarkable vitality
The lower nature masquerades
In attractive disguises,
Tenaciously clinging
To old desires.
Turn heart away
From evil
Ways and
Watch.

Soul Food
Mind is to the soul what the stomach is
To the body, feeding, nourishing
invisible treasure within.
From early morn till nightfall
the thoughts we entertain
bring feast or famine
to the one who
reaches out
for help.
Give!
Give
all the
ingredients
needed to feed
the soul. They can be
found in the bowels of truth,
knowledge, understanding, love
and wisdom. Read much but think more ~
Food for the soul is savored in the
Chore. Feed the fire, a dish for the soul.

Beauty
In
the smile
of a babe
dwells the beauty
of a happy heart ~
Alive, unencumbered,
Silently transmitting love ~
Unlike the neon smiles of those
Who mask their inner, heartfelt feelings.
True beauty reigns supreme in babies' smiles.

Grief
Grief
is lodged
deep within
a heavy heart
whose pain, unequaled,
circulates, suffocates,
debilitates and permeates
the injured soul, who sits and waits.
for time to find its way to measure
how long the anguished, woeful wait will be.

A very special kind of nest.

Enthusiasm
Let
wings of
thought come fast
to spark the flame ~
Enthusiasm,
The power behind the
wheel, that pushes the cart on
to its destination. With firm
resolve to carry on, life becomes
a song and brings one closer to the goal.

Tolerance
When
We aim
To see all
People as one,
the cornerstone of
tolerance has begun
to build its holy temple.
Guard against pride, lofty disdain
Look for compassion and you will gain
A higher education without pain ~
A tolerance for others and the self
Helps to nourish seeds of intellect
By learning to appreciate
"Life" with its complexities,
its struggles and its strife,
not condoning wrong
nor being blind
to the good
in the
soul.

Mercy
Why spread gossip about your friends or shame
that has been thrust upon your neighbor?
Build bright virtue of tolerance
to illuminate the way,
as dawn precedes the day.
Mercy will dispel
darkened halls of
Ignorance
also
Pain.
Fools
without
tolerance
pay heavily
for the harm they do.
Come, prophecy of truth,
where cruelty cannot thrive,
come quick to collect your payment
to balance the scales of unjust deeds
and clear the good name of the offended.

Harmony House
There once lived a mouse in Harmony House
Where the kitchen was neat as a pin
With crumbs enough on which to stuff
From cupboard she searched within.
Squeaking and eating the
Whole day long she sang
Her happy song.
Content, she
Was, this
Mouse.

Patience
Though
the hills
are rugged
and the climbing
slow and difficult,
the longer way around
is the short and sure way home.
All things come to him who waits and works,
keeps his head and wavers not, in turmoil.

Friendship
What
could be
better than
having a friend
whose warm, loving heart
is tested, tried and true?
Whose guidance, love and wisdom
can always be relied upon?
When the chips are down and times get tough,
You think you've had enough; you need a friend.
Mutual love, respect, admiration,
Simple joys to share, without ration,
if scattered throughout the nation
for upward evolution,
what a world this would be;
Strong, blessed and free.
Life protected,
energized,
full of
friends!

Shadows
Long
shadows
cast by the
afternoon sun
move slowly into
night, hiding from the light.
But silvery glow of moonlight
Soon beckons their return to night.
"Twixt sun and moon, through brilliance and gloom,
no place to run and hide till next day's noon.

The Dreamer
Dreams,
pictures
in the mind,
unfold at night.
Imagination,
with her colorful scenes,
comes visiting the dreamer
with her images and warnings.
Too soon they escape; are forgotten ~
In early morning dawn they fade away.

Determination
Though
the hills
are rugged
and the climbing
slow and difficult,
the longer way around
is the short and sure way home.
Though struggles come and times get rough
All things come to he who waits and works,
Keeps his head and wavers not, in turmoil.

Lamination
How
foolish
it is to
lament lessons
when they come to teach,
No matter how painful.
How long will it take to learn
From those needed admonitions?
How long will it take to turn away
From the pull of selfishness and fear?

Nature's Wisdom
No
motive
disguised and
no action cloaked
may touch the pulsing
heart of nature's wisdom.
Retribution lies in wait
for masquerading fools whose eyes
are bandaged to harm and deception.
Nature's whip will bring lessons that will sting.
Whoever would know truth must be truthful,
sound, genuine to the heart's center.
Naked honesty, purity
embrace the Laws of Nature.
Deception cannot live
within nature's womb.
Her powers shout
with loud and
beauteous
Truth!

Amber
In
the still
and quiet
golden-chambered
prison where you lie,
encased forevermore,
where you helplessly struggled;
escape denied – solidified.
Trapped in a sticky liquid embrace;
beauty born from the failure of struggle.

Medusa (Double Etheree)
Medusa must do something with her hair.
Her snakes are hissing, snapping, biting,
writhing, vying for attention.
The cobras' mouths spit fire,
the vipers' tongues spit death.
Everything is wild ~
She's lost her cool.
Her mind's on over-
load.
When
she wears
her witchs'
wig, everyone
beware; her stare will
paralyze and turn you
into stone. Wild - winged gorgon
with long, sharp teeth and claws, devours
all human life who dares to challenge.
Perseus, brave hero, came to slay her.
