The Cycle (A Cascade Poem)
Sun rises at break of day,
some days seem neverending.
At last, Mother Moon appears.
Moonlight blankets the earth.
Dreamers dream ~ and once again ~
Moon gives way to the Sun.

Just in the hour before you wake
there is that anticipation ~
a new day is about to dawn
filled possibilities.
Face them head-on.
Sun rises at break of day.

Alas, the day is long ~
the possibiities seem more
like improbabilities.
We all have days like this at times.
Dwell certain in the fact that
some days seem neverending.

Home, after a trying day ~
sit and sip a cup of tea.
Light a fire a meditate,
allow the tension to dissipate.
Tomorrow is another day.
At last, Mother Moon appears.

As the Moon rises, dusk
diminishes. It is nighttime.
Put away the cares of the day.
Eat a good dinner,
soak in a comfortable bath.
Moonlight blankets the earth.

Bedtime now, lay down your head ~
weary from a vexing day.
Close your eyes, take your journey
to the dreamcastle in the sky.
Many wonders await you there.
Dreamers dream ~ and once again ~

shortly before you awaken
you begin to stir with expectancy.
Again, the cycle is poised to begin.
Another game of chance to play.
Arise and begin anew ~
Moon gives way to the Sun.

Do you possess faith?
Do you trust?

She Weeps (A Triolet)
Ah, lovely lass, why do you cry?
"I weep for my lover so bold;
The King who has met his demise."
Ah, lovely lass, why do you cry?
"His heart was pierced and he did die
and lies on the battlefield cold."
Ah, lovely lass, why do you cry?
"I weep for my lover so bold."

Dream, Interrupted (A Rispetto)
With sleepy eyes I lay me down
to dream of happy times gone by.
Within my dream appeared a clown,
a smile replaced my daytime cry.

While juggling balls with seeming ease
the circus man began to sneeze;
his spheres all fell down to the floor,
and I awoke in bed once more.

Chasm (A Double Etheree)
                   We
                joined on
              the path of
         life. You came from
         the Sun, I, the Moon.
        Hand in hand, traveling,
       talking, laughing together ~
it seemed those times would never end.
We came upon a fork in the road ~
you chose the familiar well worn route.
I wanted more; unforged trail for me.
Parting tears formed a most solemn vow
to remain fast friends 'til the end.
The bumps, twists and turns of time
         divided us. When next
        our lives crossed, it was
            as though we were
               strangers who
                    never
                     met.

A Poet's Work (A Double Tetracys)
                   Verse ~
                  rhymers,
                balladeers,
               write poetry.
Poetic language speaks deep to the heart.
Poet hearts feel on different levels.
             "The Poets speal" ~
               their graceful,
                  tasteful,
                   works.

Luna's Adventure (A Kyrielle Sonnet)
Luna had quite the adventure
when to the moon she did venture ~
all started when she hatched a scheme
last night with the Master of Dreams.

First thought was fly up to the Sun.
That is when the trouble begun.
Sun Dragons caused Luna to scream
last night with the Master of Dreams.

"I am surprised dragons you fear,
for stouthearted you are, I hear."
Damage was done to her esteem
last night with the Master of Dreams.

Luna had quite the adventure,
Last night with the Master of Dreams.

Death in Ancient Egypt (A Triolet)
Egyptians thought death a new start
Pyramid shape stood for a ramp.
King's powers at death passed to heart.
Egyptians thought death a new start.
Their own sons Kings tried to make smart.
At death, Kings were entombed with lamp.
Egyptians thought death a new start.
Pyramid shape stood for a ramp.

Free (A Double Tetracys)
Free
from the
bonds that you

now reaching my hands to a source of strength

Morning (Kyrielle)
The morning is my special time
to contemplate the day's design.
Sit by myself and have some tea.
A wonderful day this will be!

Yet as I sit a ruminate
a life that could have been my fate,
I'm struck by God's love and mercy.
A wonderful day this will be!

Today I'm going to find a way
to show my thanks in all I say.
Thank God, I like this brand new me.
A wonderful day this will be!

In Dreams (A Monotetra Poem)
In dreams we see such special sights ~
our galaxy and northern lights.
We travel everywhere in flight,
during the night, during the night.

We may find beauty in our sleep
while o'er moonbeams we softly creep.
Feeling emotion oh, so deep,
we have to weep, we have to weep.

Yet then again, we just may find
the boogeyman inside our mind.
To us that dream feels unrefined ~
Oh rest unkind, oh rest unkind!

Then comes that lovely dream, of course,
we ride upon the wing-ed horse.
Dear Pegasus, he is the source ~
a guiding force, a guiding force.

Anon, 'tis time to greet the day,
abandon our nocturnal sleigh.
Still, we remember fun and play.
Our times were gay, our times were gay.

The Lunatic (A Rondelet)
The lunatic ~
has prisoners of not much worth.
The lunatic ~
convinced that I'm a heretic,
has held me underground since birth.
My mother hides me 'neath the earth ~
The lunatic.

Dreamweaver (An Acrostic)
Deep in the heart of everyone
Resides a maker of fantasy.
Elves, unicorns and fairies live
Amidst trees in forests to which our
Minds travel in dreams. Graceful
Willows bend and weep; they bow
Elegantly to the King of Night
And his Queen, a flirtatious
Vixen. She dances with us on
Earth 'neath the Moon before we
Return gently to our own reality.

I Come to You (Mirrored Refrain)
Hectic day; wound up tight inside,
it’s clear though what there is to do.
Whether lonely or feeling sad,
for comfort I come straight to you.

Threshhold motions me in your house
where strength and solace will be had.
For comfort I come straight to you,
whether lonely or feeling sad.

Cup of cocoa bolsters my mood,
tears wiped away with a tissue.
Whether lonely or feeling sad,
for comfort I come straight to you.

Now to face the world one more time ~
was quite the pep talk that we had.
For comfort I come straight to you,
whether lonely or feeling sad.

Where is My Love (Harrisham Rhyme)
What has become of you, my love ~
there is no room for me, it seems.
Each day is for that one above.
How can one go to such extremes
when the object of their desire
no longer lives, but died by fire?

Man In the Moon (A Rondeau)
Man in the Moon, where have you been?
‘Tis ages since your face I’ve seen ~
You are my rock many a night,
keeping at bay the tears and fright.
Tonight you’re back and so serene.

Under the softest, sweet sateen
I’ve dreamt the Queen a wolverine.
Your presence rules the sky so bright ~
Man in the Moon.

For travelers you light, pristine,
a pathway to the Evergreens ~
gathering places of delight.
Nocturnal fairies there alight
on moonbeams shining while they preen ~
Man in the Moon.

This Is New (Trois-Par-Huit)

              there is no mistaking
past questions no longer linger here

my identity is solidified, it’s clear
I no longer question who resides deep in here

mother to two and friend to a few
              no more worries I brew
                       this is new

My Love (A Rondelet)
My love for you
had grown before you said my name.
My love for you

I’m drawn to you like moth to flame.
Playful Cupid has a new game ~
My love for you.

Moonrise (Monchielle)
Each time the moon does rise
new magic will unfold ~
a fairy grows new wings,
everybody dances,
and children play with Kings.

Each time the moon does rise
a miracle occurs ~
soft moonbeams trickle down,
creating a staircase
to heaven from sundown.

Each time the moon does rise
we look at it in awe ~
her light, so bright, a gift
to save night travelers
from spinning off adrift.

Each time the moon does rise
there’s happiness and joy ~
a dreamland comes alive.
Under the moonlit sky
the elves and pixies thrive.

Images - Mirrored Refrain
Unicorns flying in the air
playing with each other.
The moon is where I get my dreams ~
she has always been my mother.

Pixies laugh and fairy dust
is bursting at the seams.
She has always been my mother,
the moon is where I get my dreams.

Cotton candy clouds of pink ~
warm under my covers.
The moon is where I get my dreams,
she has always been my mother.

Conversation with My Maker (Sestina)
You took me under the moon,
made me your willing victim.
Possession of the dark gift
is now mine for all eternity.
That I might give it to another
is my gift back to you, Maker.

You doth protest much, Maker.
This is a night with a full moon
and I must try to find another
innocent soul for my victim.
Willing or unwilling, for eternity
they shall carry the Gift.

This is a treasure, the Gift,
not to be given lightly, Maker
but to be worn for all eternity.
Scenes will be played under the moon,
games between me and my victim.
Are you jealous that I’ve another?

The way of our kind is to find another,
passing along the generous Dark Gift.
With luck we find ourselves a willing victim
that will make a fine companion, Maker,
and not cry nightly under the moon
wishing to abandon the gift of eternity.

This is all we’ll ever need, our eternity.
We’ll do well to share it with another,
pledging our love under the crescent moon
just before bestowing the revered gift
like you gave it to me, my friendly Maker.
I am your satisfied victim.

Now stands before me a victim
about to receive his eternity.
Do you think him worthy, Maker?
The life I now give to another
was given to me as your Gift.
The deed was done under the Moon.

This willing victim, it is another
shall receive eternity, the blessed Gift
as you gave me, Maker, under the Moon.

The Shooting Star Incident (A Double Etheree)
                            Gloom
                          descends
                        with a boom.
                          Lady Luna
                can’t seem to be found.
We have looked high and low ~
at the end of the rainbow
and on her swing upon the moon,
the one she plays on mostly in June.
Still, no Moonchild and we’re worried, you see.
This kind muse left ~ told no one where she’d be.
Wait ~ what is that coming from afar?
'Tis Luna on a shooting star!
            Didn’t know we’d be worried,
                 now she’s all aflurried.
               Last thing that she wants
                     is for her jaunts
                       to hurt those
                          that she
                             loves.

Luna was Born for Me (Monchielle)
Luna was born for me
one rainy afternoon.
A look back in my life
revealed a time of stress
accompanied by strife.

Luna was born for me
to help me bear the pain
of looking at the past,
I saw ability
to change the future’s cast.

Luna was born for me
when I’d nowhere to turn.
She handed me a pen ~
inspired me then to write
of things beyond my ken.

Luna was born for me ~
a dreamer I became.
That path being driven
has long ago been closed,
all parties forgiven.

Words of Love (CinqTroisDecaLa)
Though oceans apart, a look at night's sky reveals but one moon.
Seems forever since you've been away, I pray you'll be home soon.
Off to seek your fortune, you're gone over a year and a day.
Promised you that I'd be true, sitting here I solemnly stay
faithful to our love, my dearest, though sometimes it's hard, you see.
Some handsome men declared by pen their love and longing for me.
Notes from heart ~ at the start to questioning my desire for thee ~
remembering the day we first met; your voice did make me swoon.
Wishing for a post telling me you are almost home from play,
knowing that when we touch again my heart will be light and free.
