Goddess of Wisdom and War
Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom and crafts,
Skilled weaver and warrior of fame
Virgin by choice, your honor reigns
Bow low unto thy name.

Strategy and self-restraint
From mental powers, you give
Embodiment of love, not hate
Thus, warriors will not die, but live.

Your conquest won as sword did gleam
Black hatred came and glared
Compassion for opponent seen ~
Arachne's life, you spared.

And now, a spider spins her web
Athena weaves her tapestry
Together with life's flow and ebb
Because of wondrous mastery.

Symbolic owl hoots in the night
Calling from the highest tree
To bring your wisdom and your light
And mental creativity.

Athena, pray, present to me
Thy silken threads, that I might weave
A golden, rainbow tapestry
To leave for all posterity.

Osiris God of Light and the Dead
Osiris, God of Light
Health and bountiful harvests proclaim
Phenomenal mysteries of thy powers
And wonders of thy name

Osiris, symbol of The Open Eye
Ruler and Judge of the Dead
Draw me to thy open heart
Lead me to thy bed

Implant thy seeds that I might grow
To greater heights, to wiser ways
That in the future I might sow
Your seeds again, on summer days

And bring to hungry, thirsty earth
A Tree of Life from newborn birth ~
A feast of light that will sustain
The cycle of your mighty reign

Egyptian king, Judge of the Dead
Restored, returned by resurrection
Life's rivers flow, now all will grow
By love from Your Perfection

Lord of the Sky
O Falcon, great falcon, Lord of the Sky
O Falcon, great falcon, Lord of the Sky
Whose eyes are sun the moon
Immortal Horus, you reign supreme
Guard all souls till their doom.

Egyptian hawk-head, God of the Days
It's easy to smile when the sun comes out
And bask in the warmth of your golden rays
While creative energies start their mount.

Your powers revealed from holistic dissection
Strength flows down, from golden rays, bright.
With arms opened wide in joyous reception
Move out from darkness into light.

Look high to heavens
For The Lord of the Sky ~
Great hawk on the wing
As he passes by.

Cast out all fears, angers, resentments
Forgiveness and love bring strength to the brave.
Seek knowledge supreme, all its presentiments
To guide safe through the future, each maiden and knave

O Horus, Great Horus
Lord of the Sky
No mortal shall harm you
Or doomed, he shall die.

The Goddess
She knew that The King of Hell
Would soon come knocking at her door.
She had met him once before
When, though, beyond the range of sight
Unknown, with mask, he wooed her
She bowed beneath his awesome powers
When, in ages past, he slew her.
Now, she sits within the mine of pearls
Gazing up at starry skies
Red blush of youth upon her cheeks
Deep pools of blue pavonine eyes
Perfume of rose and lilac sweet
Caress the moonlight in her hair
Her virgin loveliness within
Bursts forth to greet the midnight air.
The mystery of life's sweet song
Entreasured in her bones
Like an ageless superlunary
Is humming heavenly tones.
Now, again, The King of Hell
Comes knocking at her door
Her loving eyes and soft, sweet smile
Greet him, as before.
This time, she is wary ~
Strong unto the core,
For, now, a Virgin Goddess
He can harm her, nevermore.

Eros God of Love
Shadows of a long, lost love
From beyond the pale of time
With magical, mystical moods, they come
So subtle, yet sublime.
Cupidian wind descends,
Poised arrow and poisoned dart
Moving closer, ever closer
To haunt and taunt my heart.
Angelic incantations
Bring music from the spheres
With harp-like trills and tinkling bells
To wipe away the years.
Younger, now, my soul ascends
To greet the heavenly choir
To join them in a sing-along,
My trembling heart afire!
I bare my breast and welcome
The arrow as it flies,
Eros, now, has found me ~
I see it in his eyes.

Pegasus
Oh, how I love to let
That spirited horse of mine
Run wild in the wind
As it gallops after the leader -
That ghostly phantom
Who knows the way.
Over the mountains, above the trees
And through the clouds we fly,
Together again,
Savoring the joys of comrades
Once parted, now rejoined.
What vistas there are to behold
As we break the barriers -
Cut free from that downward pull,
Running and soaring to blissful heights,
Together again.
What magic there is in the ride
With the leader by my side -
The one who knows the way.
And when I descend to earth again
And the ride in the wind is over,
I shall wait with peaceful heart
For the leader to come
And take that spirited horse of mine
For a ride into even greater realms
For he knows the way.

Pele, Goddess of Fire
She rides the seething, fiery tide
Bubbling, boiling, hissing,
Waves that only Pele can ride,
Embracing, loving, kissing.
In the midst of a mighty volcano,
In the lake of liquid fire
Rhythmically flowing from side to side
Swim eruptions of hate and desire.
Ebullition from the deepest depths
Symbolic of nascent power,
Creator, destroyer, which shall she be named
As she restlessly churns in her tower?
Expression in definite form and direction
Is given at her command.
Only the humble and wise can escape
The power of her hand.
Beware the disguises from fire that rises
Deep from the cauldron within.
A spark from the heart, like a fiery dart
Tempered with love's not a sin.

Isis, Egyptian Goddess of the Moon
(French form of the glose)

Oh, Isis, wondrous goddess of the moon
Veiled mystery of life we all regard,
Draw neigh, majestic flow, your holy rune.
Our reach to higher spheres will not be barred.

Ancient ruler, queen of heaven and of earth,
Eternal powers, souls have often sought
To suckle from your breast, first day of birth
Harsh lessons from your laws of greatest worth.
Your venerated essence, long, has brought
Upon night winds, that haunting, captive tune
Of life's sweet song, the music has been taught,
Within your golden net, all souls are caught.
Majestic, lovely lady with festoon ~
Oh, Isis, wondrous goddess of the moon.

Abundant love, protector of all life,
Known healer and avenger of the dead,
Release the bonds of tension and of strife,
Cut loose all fear and dread with sharpened knife
That all may walk the higher path, where led
Though fraught with laden steps, a journey hard.
While sun beats down hot flames of crimson red
Your luminescence invites a welcome bed.
While games of life may deal one lucky card
Veiled mystery of life we all regard.

Great lady of the heavens and netherworld,
A deity into your arms, now, comes,
Dear infant lies within your womb, tight-curled;
Upon your new born crest a star is hurled.
From smiling lips a lullaby, now, hums.
Upon a sphere your lovely face will loom.
Soft echo pulses like a distant drum.
To heaven and all its glory, earth succumbs
As mother moon feeds from her silvery spoon.
Draw neigh majestic flow, your holy rune.

Out from the earth into the heavens will ring
In worship to creative powers, a song
That fills the air with happy lingering.
From pathway to the stars your child will bring
New hope for peace and love, a bright new dawn.
All truth and power from heaven will be jarred.
To earth, your awesome beauty will belong.
Your blessed light shall wash away all wrong.
Reveal your glory, though the struggle's hard,
Our reach to higher spheres will not be barred.

Diana, Goddess of the Hunt
Diana, goddess of the night,
Protector of all maidenhood,
Leader of the chase and hunting
Races through the tree-filled wood.
Her fiery prowess youth and speed
Ensure the capture of her prey.
Each challenge brings great strength renewed
Through many cultures, night and day.
With mind set firm upon the win,
Leaping high o'er towering mazes
How well she knows to cast her spell
As lovers' hearts she swiftly crazes.

As Atalanta, known by some,
She made a catch, her man she won.

Anubis, Egyptian God of the Dead
(French form of the Glose)

Anubis, friend and guiding light
How patiently you stand the guard.
Though long, I've pushed you from my sight
And weighed you such a worthless shard.

When presence felt, in dreams you come;
Behind the mask you cannot hide.
Enticed by hypnogogic drum
Of slowing heartbeat's softened hum.
These weakened bones, no more can chide,
No haven left where I can rest.
Advancing soon, I must abide
The final blows in graceful stride
And follow, Lord, at your behest
Beneath your live and pulsing breast.

Lie gently, now, upon my tomb,
Thus darkening fears I will survive.
Moves closer, my impending doom,
No more on earth to rule or strive.
The long and laborious uphill walk
With treasures gone, I'll still survive.
Pure soul, released, will stay alive.
I'll fly the wind with Horus hawk
In search of secrets to unlock.

Sweet sound of harps, I hear the strum.
Loud roars the nearing Embertide.
Cold body, now, has long been numb.
Released, the soul is purified.
Oh, Mighty One, all sanctified,
Grand Master, I have found my quest
Heaven and earth are now allied;
Unbending laws have been applied.
I come, I fly, at your behest
To bright new world, a welcome guest.

Persephone
From her palette of vibrant hues
Mystic maiden of the seasons
Paints her wondrous scenes,
Splashing rainbowed ribbons in the sky
And floating pictured clouds
Where eagles dare to soar and fly.
With magic hands, her tiny stitches sewn,
Intricate designs are seen on every leaf and flower.
Showing forth creative beauty,
Love and awesome power.
Locked within each chapter of the seasons
Hide deep within the earth, no common sod,
Important, welcomed keepsakes, lo, the changes
Dictated by her Master-Mentor, God.
