How long have you been writing poetry?: I have been writing poetry for over thirty years, and counting.
What/Who inspires you to write?: I was first influenced by Dr. Suess' "The Cat in the Hat" at the age of nine. I loved the twisted
way he had with rhyming words. I couldn't wait to write my first poem. I kept a journal and wrote in it every day.
At nineteen, I'd discovered the works of Edgar Allen Poe. WOW! I thought. Dark and gothic was totally different that
Dr. Suess' work, but indeed another spark urged me on. Such a variety on writing poetry. I was hooked.
Now I owe all my accomplishments to none other than James and Marie Summers here at Shadow Poetry, for without
their continuing support that keeps me writing, I would have given up. So hats off to James and Marie!!!
