How long have you been writing poetry?: I actually can't remember clearly. Somewhere around the fourth grade, I think. I know that's when I started to write short stories then, so I imagine the poetry followed not too long after.
What/Who inspires you to write?: It used to be everything, but, I am going through the worst dry spell I've ever had. I am dying to find that connection that I once had with my not sleeping muse. I continue to work at it, though.
Favorite Quote or Motto: "Nothing worthwhile is ever easy." I don't recall whese I heard this. I think it was on "Star Trek." But it was never more appropriate that it is now.
Writing Awards, Publications, and other Achievements: I have published in Bell's Letters Poet for many issues now. I have about thirteen blue ribbon poems on fanstory.com under the name purpleveil. I received the "editor's choice award" from poetry.com and the Richard K Byrd award from BL. I have also been in BL's top 50 several times. I have no books out yet, and it may be a while. I also published an article for Bermond Press.
Additional Poet Information: I welcome any conversations about writing or poetry that I can get into, so feel free to email me if you want to talk about it. I feel like a middle child sometimes, because none of my friends are really interested in poetry or the writing life, so I don't have a lot of common ground among the people in my life.
