How long have you been writing poetry?: Since I was 14, 35 years.

What/Who inspires you to write?: Everything inspires me. I will get a line or word in my head and it will tease me until I write it down. Billboards are the worst, the words some folks use to advertise will make me think of life in a different way, just that slight twist that takes on a different angle that I hadn't thought of before.

Favorite Quote or Motto: I have always known that some day I would walk this road, but yesterday I did not know it would be today. -Chinese proverb-

Writing Awards, Publications, and other Achievements: I have several poetry awards from the private group called Poetry For Thought and won one contest many years ago for a poem called Burgerhouse Queen. I have been published on a few sites on the Internet. But until recently I have not really sought publication in contests or through a publishing agent.

Additional Poet Information: I am from Wilmington, NC and have traveled the USA for the last 32 years. At the present time I am residing in South Wales, UK and will return to the US in June. Before travelling to the UK 5 months ago I lived and worked in Oregon. I have three grandchildren who are often featured in my poetry and writing. Children are wonderful wildlife and their antics should be recorded for future reference. My poetic style varies with my mood and if an unknown form strikes me I will write in it until I am satisfied I have done it to the best of my ablility. Then I naturally drift back to my regular free style of writing. I like rhyming poems and non-rhyming and I write both.
